“Wool Issue”!
The Committee for The Journal for Weavers, Spinners, and Dyers, UK, has just published their Fall issue, which is a very special issue entirely devoted to wool. This has been in the works for well over a year and a half and then some. It is the journal of all UK guilds and is where we found our partnering guild, the Staffordshire Moorlands Guild of Weavers, Spinners, and Dyers, for our bookmark exchange.
Deb Robson, The Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook, has written an unbelievable article on “Tracing the British Breeds”. A daunting and very involved task, handled masterfully! I have an article, “Weaving Legend and Heritage”, that shares the story about my Preservation Wraps collection with extremely magnificent photos taken by someone we all know.
Unfortunately I don’t know of a shop in the US that carries this publication but I am hoping to get a few more copies, one of which will go in our guild library. From front cover to back cover, you don’t want to miss any of it if wool is a fiber you cherish.
I look forward to borrowing the library copy if you are able to secure one. Fingers crossed!
