This section includes a small collection of weaving-related publications which are written in Danish, Swedish and/or Finnish. They will be made available for viewing by appointment only.









Finnish Linen Weaves:






File folder of photocopies depicting various weaves and pattern drafts.










Woven Patterned Fabrics:






A description of this publication which has been pasted on the inside cover is dated 1950 and describes the book as a “Finnish classic, which has received rave reviews.” It contains designs, diagrams and weaving drafts for looms with 4 to 12 harnesses.









Danish Patterns for Handlooms:






A loose-leaf folder containing pattern-weaving drafts with introductory instructions written in both Danish and English. Dated February, 1957.









Swedish Patterns and Designs:






Portfolio 4, consisting of pattern drafts and designs for decorative fabrics: cushions, tablerunners, tablecloths. Compiled by the Swedish Homecraft Society, dated 1951, translated into English by Frances Van Hall.









We Weave For The Home:






Rough translation for a hardcover pattern book for upholstery fabric, dated September, 1954, written in Swedish.









Rug and Carpet Patterns Sample Book:






A catalogue, all in color, distributed by a Swedish manufacturer, depicting samples of their stock.





New Rag Rugs:






Finnish Text, Helsinki, 1966. Hand-sketched rug patterns, accompanied by colored drawings of same.









Basic Handweaving:






Danish Text. The forward, roughly translated, indicates that this is a basic handweaving book. Contains many interesting illustrations and photographs pertaining to same.
