March Meeting Minutes

A special thank-you to Fran for an excellent presentation on the ups and downs of Double Weave. In addition to the presentation, Fran brought in a 4 shaft table loom with a pick up pattern and samples of all the techniques. Fran’s presentation covered switching foreground and background, weaving tubes, weaving double width and using pick up sticks for complex decorative patterns. Thank-you Fran!

March Meeting Pictures

The illuminator has posted images from the March meeting. This meeting’s feature was a presentation by Fran on Double Weave.  Fran’s presentation included tube, double width, layer exchange and pick up samples. Show and Share included two unusual drift wood looms and re-enactment Viking Leg Wraps. Select galleries from the menu bar then select Sandra’s albums and the March sub album.

A special thank-you to Ted for an excellent presentation on Weaving in Tunisia. Ted had a unique experience of being there at the time of cultural transition and the impact on village life from a weavers perspective. The articles shared which included a delicate reed, shuttles and outer wear were exceptional. Thank-you Ted!
