Melissa is providing us with the amazing – a description of each and every book on the NOBO Fiber Reading List. Hold onto your shuttles because at last count, there are over sixty titles!
Don’t miss our June 24th meeting, next Thursday evening at A Loom with a View, Newburyport – “Summer Reading”, survey discussion, and more, of course. Remember to bring in your favorite “weaving or fiber” book and even a woven piece for Show and Share that may have been inspired by your choice.

Greetings, fellow Nobonians. (Is that what we’re calling ourselves now???)
At long last, the NOBO Handweavers website is on it’s own account. It, as well as the domain name, are secured for the next two years!
I’ve spent the last few hours migrating over all the files and databases to their new home. If you should spot any broken links or anything else amiss, please let me know and I’ll fix it right up. Use the admin@nobohandweavers.com to help me keep track of Nobo-business.
Enjoy the site!

Thanks to the expertise of Dave, I’ve finally figured out how to post the minutes of our meetings without pestering either him or Ted.
The May minutes are finally posted if you need to refer to anything that transpired that night

Just a friendly reminder that a few seats are still available in this Saturday’s class. Leah Reed, who presented such a fascinating talk on the ancient fiber technique of Sprang at the March meeting, will be leading the four-hour workshop during which we will each learn the basic technique while constructing a small drawstring bag with an amazing amount of expandability! Call A Loom with a View for more information.

As I mentioned during the May meeting (and for those of you unable to attend last month’s meeting), the June meeting is focused on the survey results and “Summer Reading”. Melissa and I are revamping the fiber reading list I received during a lecture at Convergence 2008. We are presently adding a line or two of descriptions to all the books listed. These books have either a fiber theme or reference to fibers in some manner. They are not “learn to weave” type books. Please submit titles of any books you may have read that could be added to this listing. Don’t assume the book you have in mind is already on the list. This is in no way a complete list. I know there are more books out there, readers and even a few librarians among us!
