I sure am happy that I didn’t miss Monday’s presentation on Mongolian felting by Mary Underwood and am so appreciative of her efforts to bring this amazing corner of the world to us. Thank you Mary, and all involved. I had been on the fence about going due to this now rampant virus making the rounds. I hope those affected are better and those others still healthy.
I did see a familiar face in the group and wanted to ask if anyone else has met Tinka Pritchett? Someone from WGoNH may have invited her. She taught Nuno felting at NEWS 3 years ago and that is where I met her. She agreed to do an evening program for Nashoba Valley Weavers Guild which sadly I missed due to a work conflict. Are we interested in having her do something in 2010? Nuno felting usually produces sheer fabric and can be a messy process. If we wanted to go beyond an evening presentation, I could look into reserving space in the Parish Hall in the FRS Church across the street.
Just a thought…

This morning on “Good Day New York”, Linda Cortright, editor/publisher of Wild Fibers and founder of Keep the Fleece, presented the attached sections of the WLS while accompanied by a llama on the streets of NYC. Take a close look at the leader scarf!! Look familiar? Lots to share at tomorrow’s guild meeting! www.myfoxny.com

The Spinning Wall
I had the good fortune to be invited out to Boulder last week for Schacht Spindle Company’s 40th Anniversary celebration. It was loads of fun. Most impressive were the entries in weaving and spinning for the “I Made It On My Schacht” contest. Our very own Diane was a finalist in both the weaving and spinning categories. The wall of spinning entries was really cool! Congratulations Diane!

You’ve just got to love giveaways.
Especially when the item happens to be handcrafted pick up sticks and shuttles made from exotic woods.
Here’s a link to the site that’s making the offer. She’s trying to promote her friend’s new business venture and it’s a good one.
Good friend!

Okay- now that we know Dave would never disobey a direct order, here’s some exciting news.
Dave, our web genius and all around nice guy, is coming to Newburyport this Saturday for a visit.
Seeing as many of you would like to meet him in person, I’m going to hold an Open House with Dave as the guest of honor this Saturday from 2-4.
I realize that this is short notice and it is Columbus Day weekend but if you can come, please do.
You can email me at kathiekelleher@yahoo.com to get my address and further details.
This is going to be fun!
