NOBO has a library!

Published by under General,Library

Ginger LaMontagne has accepted our offer to purchase her weaving books. On Friday, July 31st, Joan B. and I drove to Stratham, NH, to collect the books and transport them to their new home which, for the moment, is in Joan’s home.

It’s a marvelous collection, in great condition, and it was a pleasure getting to know Ginger a little bit better. Joan is working on cataloging the whole works and will post a list of titles at her earliest opportunity. The new library feature created by SusanB at LibraryThing seems like a great tool for managing the NOBO library.

Weaver’s Swap/ Part Two

Published by under Weaving

Last rainy and gray Thursday, the mail lady delivered Benita’s weaver’s swap fabric to my house. Once I opened the box, I couldn’t stop smiling. Teal’s one of my very favorite colors and the fabric just brightened my day. Benita included lots of yarn to assist in my bag making adventure. I’m starting to get an image in my head and can’t wait to begin sketching and sewing.
I’ll post the final bag I mail to Benita and also the bag she sends me.
This has been one of the best swaps I’ve ever done :-) Swap1

Weaver’s Swap/ Part One

Published by under Weaving

If you were at the July meeting, you know about the weaver’s swap I’m in. Dave Daniels (theweavingstudio.com) and Benita Story (basicallybenita.com) devised an ingeniuos swap where we weave a cotton panel 2 yards long by 12-18″ wide, design of our choice. Then we mail it to our partner. Each person cuts off 1 yard of what they receive and  keeps it. Then, they fashion a bag to return to the original weaver. Win-win!

So, here’s what I wove for my partner, Benita:
