Hi fellow Nobo’ers,
Some of my friends and I have antique circular sock knitting machines and we had periodic get-togethers ( Crank-Ins because you crank the machine). The next one will be Sunday Jan. 22nd in Salem NH. We invite spinners also, actually any fiber project you want to work on will be welcomed. I’ll probably be rug hooking. It’s a fun day and if any of you want to come, please do and stay for the day or as long as you want. The CSMs (sock machines) are very cool~ you might just want to come and see some in action!!
Below is all the information. If you have any questions, please call or email me,
Hope to see some of you there!!
Diane Howes
p.s. (important~ bring a chair!)

“Socks By The Side of the Road” is having another Crank-In and spinners are also invited! (I might still be rug-hooking though.)
All the details are below. Feel free to invite anyone to join us that would be interested!

place to meet inside with a fireplace!
What to bring: a table or stand, chair, CSM & related stuff, rug or towel to put on the floor under your machine,

I hope everyone is having a festive holiday season! What a lovely time our December meeting was. My Shaker inspired carpet article for Schacht Spindle Company has been published. Thanks to Roben Campbell for inspiring me and sharing her knowledge, and to Diane Howes for supplying me with loads of wonderful photos of Shaker carpets that made me want to weave more! You can check it out by clicking here.
See you all in January!

This Friday, December 9th, 6 to 9 PM, is our first Fiber Artists Showcase at A Loom with a View featuring the exceptionally fine works of three local artisans. Margaret Russell’s handwoven natural fiber textiles are must-touch beautiful. Kim Sheehan’s captivating felt art is astounding in its attention to detail and color. And the whimsical handknit designs by Cheryl Kubat of Urgent Need Handwork are stylishly delightful. Please plan to stop in. All the showcase pieces will be for sale. This is your chance to purchase a truly special gift.

Sue Jones is having a garage sale today, 9-2. She
is at 15 Block Drive, Brentwood, NH.
She is selling some of her stash, and a spool rack her Dad built!
She adds:
Mostly wool yarns, some cones some small balls and a whole box of fine yarns that I have not even had time to explore. Ray and I just hauled a funky little set of drawers. 6 drawers side by side with a makeshift formica like top that works well in a studio. also a rain barrel a few tools, misc housewares, a very old oak desk, a tv cabinet etc. I also have a computer desk that is too heavy to lug in one piece, still holding up this computer.
Her number is 603-642-6620.
I had a great time at Thursday’s meeting. What a fun group you guys are!
