The MFA on MLK Day
For anyone fortunate enough to be off on Monday, January 18, 2010, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston has free admission!
Of particular note is the event listed as Woven Traditions in the Riley Seminar Room: Kente is traditional woven fabric from Africa, used during special occasions. Design and weave a kente cloth using your favorite colors. Having worked with Kente textiles in the 80′s and early 90′s, this is of personal interest.
Unfortunately, I’ll be working, but if you’re in the Fenway area of Boston, free admission and some interesting events are worth thinking about.
And, as always, all programs are wheelchair
accessible.
