OPEN STUDIO FOR WEAVERS

Published by at 11:40 PM under General

A Loom with a View is offering “Open Studio for Weavers” in the New Year! These are 2 hour drop-in sessions, Tuesday evenings, 6:30-8:30pm, and the cost is $20 per session. We will start with one a month thru March. If well attended, we will add another session, so we could have two every month starting in April. It is up to you!

Open Studio is a great opportunity if you have questions regarding a piece you are weaving, need help reading a draft or winding a warp, would like to sit and weave among friends (bring in your loom!) or anything else weaving-related that you might like a little assistance with. Open Studio is not a class but a time for you to get some guidance from Betsy or myself or even other weavers!

We do ask, when possible, to give A Loom with a View a call to let us know you will be “dropping in”.

Jan 19, Feb 16, and Mar 16 are the scheduled dates for the first Open Studios. Come join us!

The Jan 19th session will offer a warp winding demo from 6:30 – 7pm.

Sounds like a wonderful idea, and would love to attend; however, my Resident Engineer and I have a standing Tuesday night dinner date. Another time, perhaps?

Tuesday evenings became the time slot for Open Studio since A Loom with a View is already open at that time. However, we are always looking for suggestions regarding possible daytime hours that could work for those that Tues eve does not. Ideally, we need at least three attendees to make these work but the more, the better. We are also very interested in requests for any demos/talks we could offer during the first half hour or so of Open Studio. As it’s been said, these Open Studios are up to the participants and what all of you would like them to be. Please think about them and share your thoughts!

Thanks Joan for generating further comment on this topic!
